After personally leading the cleansing of the Gundichā Temple (Gundichā Mārjana) before the annual Ratha-yātrā festival, Mahāprabhu rested at this sacred site. This pastime highlights His service mood, humility, and devotion and is one of the principal reasons for the site’s importance.

Mahāprabhu also spent time with His intimate devotees performing kīrtana, discussing spiritual topics, and remembering the Lord’s pastimes. During Ratha-yātrā, He participated in ecstatic saṅkīrtana before Lord Jagannātha’s chariot. These pastimes have made Mahaprabhu Vishrama Sthana an important pilgrimage destination for devotees.
