Objective 1 : To Identify the location and purpose of the Niladri Vihara Museum within the Jagannath Temple complex.

The Niladri Vihara Museum is a cultural and educational museum located within the sacred premises of the Shree Jagannath Temple, Puri. It was established to help devotees better understand the glorious history, traditions, scriptures, and transcendental pastimes associated with Lord Jagannath.

The word “Niladri” refers to the Blue Hill, the sacred hill on which Lord Jagannath resides. “Vihara” means a place of recreation or a place where one can experience and appreciate divine pastimes. Thus, Niladri Vihara is a place where devotees can deepen their appreciation of Lord Jagannath’s spiritual heritage.

The museum is situated inside the Shree Jagannath Temple complex, within the Kurma Bedha, which is the temple’s outer enclosure wall.

Specifically, it is located on the northern side of the temple complex.

Since it lies within the temple premises, devotees usually visit the museum after having the darshan of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra.
